Resting in things that actually provide rest

### Journal Entry Reflection

**Communication and Connection:**

Today, I’m reflecting on the challenges I’ve faced in connecting with my wife. With the demands of growing our business and raising our three daughters, it has been difficult to find time for each other. Recently, we had an argument about communication, which highlighted my tendency to bottle up stress. Since then, I’ve made positive changes by eliminating distractions like social media and focusing on worship music, meditation, and quality family time. I can feel the shift in my emotions and see the positive changes in our relationship.

### Scripture for Reflection

**Peace Through Prayer:** Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

*”Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”*

This verse encourages you to bring your concerns to God, reminding you that prayer can provide peace even amidst stress and busy schedules.

**Rest in Jesus:** Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

*”Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”*

This is an invitation from Jesus to find rest and comfort in Him, especially during times of exhaustion and emotional strain. It serves as a reminder that you can lean on Him when life feels overwhelming.

**Casting Anxiety on God:** 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

*”Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”*

This verse reassures you that you don’t have to carry your stress alone; you can hand it over to God, who deeply cares for your well-being. It encourages you to release your burdens and trust in His support.

### Custom Prayer

“Heavenly Father, we come before You with open hearts, seeking Your wisdom and comfort. Thank You for the moments of clarity and connection with my wife. Help us to communicate openly and honestly, and to support each other through the challenges we face. May Your peace fill our hearts and guide our interactions. Strengthen our marriage and help us prioritize our relationship amidst our busy lives. We trust in Your unfailing love and grace as we navigate this journey together. Amen.”
