My mental health is really struggling. I’ve started medication but it hasn’t started working yet. It feels like my brain is failing on me. All of the sudden I’ll experience unprovoked anxiety. Everything around me will be fine so it makes no sense. It’s as if there’s all the sudden some chemical imbalance in my brain and it’s going into fight or flight for a reason I’m unaware of. It’s hard to feel and trust God in those moments. I’m particularly anxious about having to worship on stage this week because that’s when I’ve been experiencing the most anxiety which breaks my heart because I love singing so much and now performing has become a source of panic for unknown reasons.

TFJ's Insight
Insight/Reflection: I understand how challenging it must be to navigate through mental health struggles while also trying to maintain a sense of faith and trust in God. It’s important to remember that it’s okay to seek help and support, and that God is always there to walk alongside you through every step of the journey.
Verse to Memorize: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6
Application: This verse reminds us to bring our anxieties and worries to God in prayer, trusting that He will provide peace and comfort in the midst of our struggles.
Verse to Uphold: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27
Application: Even in the midst of anxiety and uncertainty, Jesus offers us His peace that surpasses all understanding. By holding onto His promises, we can find comfort and strength in the midst of our struggles.
Verse to Seek: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
Application: In our moments of weakness and vulnerability, we can find strength in knowing that God’s grace is more than enough to sustain us. By leaning on Him and surrendering our struggles, we allow His power to work through us.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up this dear soul who is struggling with their mental health. May they find comfort in Your presence and peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in Your grace and strength, knowing that You are with them every step of the way. Grant them the courage to seek help and support, and guide them as they navigate through this difficult season. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
