Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Here’s a simple way to understand it:
Imagine you have a flashlight. When you turn it on in a dark room, it lights up everything around you. In the same way, when you do good things—like being kind, helping others, or sharing what you have—you are shining your light.
Jesus is telling us that when we do good things, people notice. And when they see our good actions, it can help them understand more about God and how much He loves us. So, just like a flashlight helps people see in the dark, our good deeds can help others see the goodness of God.
So, it’s important to be nice and helpful, not just for ourselves, but to show others how great God is!
