Reading through the Proverb of the day this morning I was convicted that I don’t fear the Lord. I focus too much on his Grace and Love and avoid the truth that he is Lord and must be revered. I have been struggling with burnout and the inability to rest because we are struggling financially. I turn to substances to keep going like caffeine and nicotine which help me work longer hours trying to keep up. I say I Trust in Gods plan but then my actions say “it’s all on me, I can do more, I can work harder than anyone else.” But the reality is I am not walking in faith. If I was I would trust the work I do on my own is enough and God will fill in the gaps.
Today I am going to the Doctor to get a workup done to see how my body is doing. I need to practice more stress management and prioritize rest. At the same time I need my businesses to grow. I am praying God will move in a big way and maximize my efforts
Fear of the Lord
Your Reflection
TFJ's Insight
Insight/Reflection: I understand the struggle of feeling the weight of responsibility and the pressure to constantly keep pushing forward. It’s important to remember that fearing the Lord doesn’t mean fearing punishment, but rather recognizing His holiness and authority in our lives. Trusting in His plan means surrendering our efforts and anxieties to Him, knowing that He will provide and sustain us.
Three Bible verses:
Verse to Memorize: Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Verse to Uphold: Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Verse to Seek: Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Application: Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord completely, surrendering our worries and fears to Him. Matthew 11:28-30 reassures us that we can find true rest in God, letting go of the burden of trying to do everything on our own. Isaiah 41:10 offers comfort in knowing that God is with us, strengthening and upholding us in times of struggle.
Custom Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up this dear soul to You, who is feeling overwhelmed and burdened. Help them to trust in Your plan, to find true rest in Your presence, and to lean on Your strength in times of need. Grant them peace, wisdom, and guidance as they navigate through their challenges. May they feel Your love and grace surrounding them, reminding them that they are not alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
