Don’t give your scraps toy Jesus

Your Reflection

It sounds like you may be reflecting on the importance of giving our best to Jesus and not offering Him leftovers. Remember Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” This verse reminds us to prioritize God above all else.

Verse to Memorize: Malachi 1:6 – “A son honors his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says the Lord Almighty. “It is you priests who show contempt for my name.” But you ask, ‘How have we shown contempt for your name?'”

Application: This verse challenges us to examine our hearts and ensure that we are giving God the honor and respect He deserves in all aspects of our lives, including our offerings and sacrifices.

Verse to Uphold: Proverbs 3:9 – “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.”

Application: This verse encourages us to honor God with our possessions and resources, giving Him the first and best of what we have rather than offering Him leftovers or scraps.

Verse to Seek: Colossians 3:23-24 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Application: This verse reminds us to approach everything we do with excellence and wholeheartedness, knowing that ultimately we are serving the Lord and not just people. Let this mindset guide your actions and offerings to God.

Let’s pray: Dear Lord, help us to always give our best to You, honoring You with our whole hearts and lives. May we never offer You scraps or leftovers, but instead present our first and finest as a true reflection of our love and devotion to You. Amen.
