Bible Verse: James 4:8 (NIV) “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” Application: Sometimes, life scatters our focus and we drift from God, but this verse calls us back to Him with a promise: when we take even the smallest step toward God, He draws near to us. As we deal with distractions and conflicting priorities, it’s important to actively seek closeness to God—both by turning from habits that keep us distant and by inviting Him daily into our hearts and actions. Custom Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for Your invitation to come close to You. I long for Your presence this day. Help me set aside things that hinder my relationship with You. Forgive me for my divided heart and help me to pursue You wholeheartedly. Cleanse and renew me, God, so that I may know You more deeply and walk in Your ways. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
